Welcome to the website for Palmetto State Systema and thank you for visiting. Palmetto State Systema is a small, private (i.e. non-commercial) martial arts school dedicated to learning and practicing the Russian martial art of Systema (The System) as taught by Mikhail Ryabko and Vladimir Vasiliev.

 

The local instructor is Mark Jakabcsin, who is a certified instructor under Mr. Vasiliev. The training occurs at the home of Mark Jakabcsin in the town of Fort Mill, SC and on Monday nights (6:30-8pm) at the Ultimate Gym, 2019 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC.

 

Mark's home is conveniently located 2-3 minutes from Interstate 77, about 15 minutes from uptown Charlotte. The Ultimate Gym is located right next to the WSOC TV building on N. Tryon, just minutes from Uptown.

 

The classes tend to be small which allows for a large amount of individual attention and a close friendly atmosphere between the students. While the training facility is simple in make up it is clean, safe and does have its own heating and air conditioning.
